July is Splatoon month! And that’s not just us talking; Nintendo has scheduled the final Splatfest event for July 22, and it will pit fans against each other in the ultimate showdown of Team Callie vs Team Marie. Appropriately, we are also finally getting Callie and Marie amiibo figures, which are coming on the 8th.
So you can see why making Splatoon our Game of the Month is a no-brainer! As always, we invite fans to participate in a social media discussion on the game this month by using #NFGameClub. Splatoon was originally suggested by @Agentdave7 on Twitter. As you probably know, the game is a flagship Wii U title that released worldwide at the tail end of May 2015. It’s a unique, colorful take on the online multiplayer shooter, where the objective is to mark as much territory as possible with your team’s color of ink.
