After six successful months in the west, the Yo-Kai Watch phenomenon is receiving expansions in all areas this fall, including two video games exclusive to Nintendo 3DS and 2DS systems coming September 30: Yo-Kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Yo-Kai Watch 2: Fleshy Souls. Similar to mainstream Pokémon games, the two versions will differ only in small ways, each with rare exclusive Yo-kai. The games will expand the world to include areas beyond Springdale, dozens of new Yo-kai, and time travel mechanics of some kind.
New video games are only the tip of the iceberg, though. Hasbro will be vastly expanding the Yo-Kai Watch toy line (which will soon feature trading cards), season 2 of the animated show will debut on Disney XD this summer, and VIZ Media will continue to publish the manga series. A mobile app, Yo-Kai Watch Wibble Wobble, is also available to download free.
