Nintendo’s general plans for E3 2015 are out in the open, thanks to another quirky video from the company. We’ll be getting another “Digital Event” this year, which will once again take the place of a live press conference (not a bad thing), plus the Treehouse Live @ E3 stream promises to be more “expanded” compared to last year’s, with “even more games and guest appearances by [Nintendo’s] developers.”
Presumably to compete with the Super Smash Bros. Invitational that was such a huge success last year, Nintendo is bringing back the Nintendo World Championships after a 25-year hiatus. Fans interested in competing can do so at select Best Buy stores around the country in the weeks leading up to E3, and there will be a showdown on June 14 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, where fans can watch the crowing of the champion (you can also watch online, which isn’t as cool).
Last year, players could experience Super Smash Bros. at Best Buy during the week of E3. This year, the featured game will be Mario Maker, which has been in development long enough for me to suspect it’s going to be an even bigger game than we have anticipated. If not, I will feel personally let down.
Do you have any E3 hopes and dreams, especially now that Nintendo has revealed a part of their hand?
