It’s slim pickings this week, but Wii U and 3DS owners may have some free-to-play goodness in store. First, Mini Mario & Friends: amiibo Challenge is now available to download free for the general public. If you have any amiibo figures, you can scan them with your GamePad or New 3DS to play through dozens of mini Mario puzzle levels. A select handful of amiibo, such as Donkey Kong and Yoshi, will unlock special levels designed with those characters’ special abilities in mind.
The full, free-to-play version of Lost Reavers is now available on Wii U. With the beta period over and done, it’s time to find out if this 4-player, online co-op game will hold players’ interest for long.
My personal favorite addition this week is to the Wii U library: Xenoblade Chronicles is now available on Virtual Console in North America. Having played the game in both its portable and console iterations, I always recommend the console version to interested parties, and the digital option is probably your best bet on that front!
