The original Pokémon games have been available on the Nintendo 3DS eShop for more than a month now! You may recall that we requested readers to find a friend, locally, and play a Pokémon game together during the month of March. How did you do?
I was lucky enough to have 3 friends to trade and battle with, one of whom was an immediate family member. I hoped I would be brave enough to make a new friend (maybe at the college where I work), but that didn’t pan out, unfortunately. Still, me and two buddies spent a couple of hours one night playing and trading Pokémon. In my downloaded version of Pokémon Red, I prepared a Kadabra and Graveler to trade, because, as anyone who has played with the first generation of Pokemon should know, those two will only evolve into their most powerful forms via trade! We’ll probably play together again sometime, and I hope to have a Machoke and/or Haunter by then.
Even though the month of March is coming to a close, we hope you’ll continue to look for opportunities to play games with friends locally!
