Pokemon 20th: Difficult Decision

Since there are over 700 different species of Pokemon now, choosing a favorite is no easy task. However, we have a special request for everyone to consider it anyway! Our question for you this week is:

Which Pokemon is your favorite and why?

Here’s what the staff has to say:

“1) Charmander, for sentimental reasons: when I was little I went to Disneyland, and at the park there was a game that had stuffed animals to win, and Dad won me a Charmander. 2) Feraligatr, because my father and I both picked Totodile when we played Gold together. 3) Pidgeot, becuase when I first played Yellow and caught my first Pokemon (of course a Pidgey), it grew up to be a damn tank of a Pokemon and never missed, never died, always kicking ass. Here’s to you, BIGBIRDMAN. 4) Dewgong, for similar reasons. In Pokemon Yellow, on Cinnibar island where you go to revive old fossil Pokemon, there’s a room with a lady willing to give you her Dewgong (it was named Cezane in the English games), and again, this thing was a bloody harbinger of doom. Nothing got past it.” (Mike McSurdy)

“Greninja, because I immediately fell in love with Froakie the first time I saw him, and Greninja looks so dang cool! I love his style, and the fact that his scarf is actually his tongue is hilariously awesome!” (Jonathan Cruz)

“This is easier for me to answer than some, I imagine, but Ho-Oh all the way. And not just any old Ho-Oh: my level 100 Ho-Oh. I spent dozens of hours playing Pokemon Colosseum on the GameCube to earn it fair and square. If you don’t know, the process involves snagging every shadow Pokemon, purifying every one of them, fully evolving them all, and using a team of those Pokemon to clear Mt. Battle, a 100-battle challenge mode. It’s not an easy task, but I have kept and trained my prized Ho-Oh all this time, transferring it through the 3 generations that have passed since Colosseum.” (Holly Fellmeth)

“Ivysaur – My very first Pokemon was a Bulbasaur, and when I figured out I could make something strong AND cute by evolving him a stage, Ivysaur became my instant fave!” (Lukas Termini)

Now it’s on you guys to let us know the what and why on your favorite Pokemon!
