Interested parties can now sign up for Nintendo Account, which will pre-register them for Nintendo’s first-ever smart device app, Miitomo. Those who sign up early will be “among the first to be notified about the availability of Miitomo when it launches in March.” The game serves as a social network of sorts, in which users will ask and answer unusual questions with family and friends. Connections with said family and friends can be made in person or through Facebook, Google+, and Twitter.
Miitomo will be free-to-start, with clothing and accessories for Mii characters comprising in-app purchases. Using the app will earn users Miitomo coins, though, so plenty of content will be accessible sans real currency.
Miitomo will launch alongside Nintendo’s new rewards program, My Nintendo, and those who pre-register with Nintendo Account will receive some “Platinum Points” to get started with. More details are sure to surface come March!
