Super Mario Maker fuels 110% increase in Wii U sales

Wii U hardware sales showed a positive spike in September thanks to Super Mario Maker. Nintendo of America has revealed that the console’s sales “increased by nearly 110 percent” in September compared to August. The 3DS has also had a good year: “Through the first nine months of 2015, sales of the Nintendo 3DS hardware have increased by nearly 25 percent over the same time frame in 2014.”

Nintendo expects these positive trends to continue, especially with the holidays drawing closer; the company’s hopes are riding on The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes, Animal Crossing: amiibo Festval, Yo-Kai Watch, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, and more.

What do you predict for Nintendo during the remainder of the year?
