Gemology Releasing on the Wii U eShop October 2nd

Gemology, a gravity puzzle game for Wii U that draws inspiration from games such as Tetris, Dr. Mario and Bejeweled finally has a release date of October 2nd.

There are two game modes in Gemology:

  • Lapidiary tasks you with solving a series of pre-established puzzles. The goal is to remove the raw gems in each shaft. Players can call down rocks and break them into gems and clear rows. Rocks will fall from both sides of the shaft and players need to determine how to move the rocks by moving the environment.
  • Annealiation is a frantic arcade mode that is a game of risk and reward. You can choose to keep the match going for a higher score, or back out early to get a smaller score. Combining gems give you higher point values, while saving smaller gems extends the time allotted.

Gemology supports touch screen controls and supports three different playing options. Off-TV play is supported as well, with an additional Observers Mode for easy viewing.

A level creator and multiplayer mode is currently in development and will be made available for free at a later date.
