Nintendo of America took to Twitter this morning to announce that a new ranked battle mode, Rainmaker, will be coming to Splatoon tomorrow, August 14, at 7:00 p.m. Pacific time.
In Rainmaker mode, the objective is for yourself or one of your teammates to carry the rainmaker weapon to the opposing team’s base. According to the Splatoon Wiki, the rainmaker works much like the inkzooka special weapon, so the player carrying it won’t be completely defenseless. Like Tower Control mode, a clock will countdown in case the battle runs too long, in which case the winners are decided based on distance traveled.
