StarFox Zero was showcased during Nintendo’s E3 Digital Event in greater detail this year, as supposed to their micro announcement of StarFox last year!
In collaboration with Platinum Games known for their tight, fast, action-packed titles and Nintnedo, StarFox Zero is a reimaging of the original StarFox on the Super NES and that of the Nintendo 64 and were clear this was not a remake or a sequel! StarFox Zero will feature many new vehicle types and transformations of the Arwing and the classic LandMaster Tank! The levels are longer which consist of at least 2 or more phases, and can be played through multiple ways by using the new transforming vehicles! Each planet in the Lylat System will have 2 or 3 separate missions, encouraging you to play through that planet in a new and different way depending on the mission.
The gameplay is further changed by the use of separate viewpoints, the main TV is your overall and cinematic view and the Gamepad is Fox’s cockpit. The Gamepad is what you use to aim using gyro-controls to gun down enemies, locking on to 3 different targets at once; and since the button layout is much simpler, you’ll be able to at ease make use of all the grand maneuvers and transformations available to you!
[Update]
While there’s also no online multi-player, Nintendo did express interest in it, and an online 1-on-1 feature may be added to the game later on.
There is 2player local co-op!
2players take control of one of the functions of Fox’s vehicles, steering or aiming, and play cooperatively!
Fox and Falco amiibo will be compatible to give players small bonuses in the StarFox Zero!
Nintendo didn’t give a release date for StarFox Zero, only a window of this year’s shopping season!
