Lukas Comes Out Of Nowhere!

(I don’t know how to use psi. I AM more adorable than Lucas though.)

Hi there, everyone! My name is Lukas Termini, and as of today I’m offically joining the staff here on NintendoFever!

After meditating on the subject with the wizened sages who convinced me to join this fine institution, I decided my first article should be an introduction, so you readers can get to know me a little better.

Let’s start with a little history.

I’ve literally been playing video games as far back as I can remember. My first game (according to my parents, at least) was Super Mario Bros. on the Nintendo Entertainment System when I was about three years old. Fun fact: I cried the first time Mario died.

Since then I just haven’t been able to get enough of the big N. I’ve happily owned every major Nintendo system since then and plan to continue this trend into the distant future. My love for Nintendo is no big secret. In second grade, my teacher actually thought Mario and Luigi were my brothers because I spent so much time talking about them. In high-school, my notebooks were littered with drawings of Ness and Lucas. Even in college, I was waiting in line with my friends outside Gamestop to receive the next exclusive download-only Pokemon.

Before I go any farther, I want to make it clear that I’m far from a Nintendo-only fanboy. I have a deep respect for the industry of game design as a whole and love to see the content being created for every platform. Some of my fondest gaming memories come from playing Call of Duty on my old college roommate’s Playstation 3. That being said, I always find myself drifting back to Nintendo. There’s just something about the magic that so many Nintendo games seem to have. It’s like they’ve found the secret to video game Nirvana, and they always leave me wanting to come back for more.

Now for the important part: What games do I like to play?

Well, as you’ve probably guessed, I get a lot of use out of my WiiU. I’m always playing Smash Bros. and welcome the chance to battle any and all challengers. I’ve also had a longstanding love affair with Mario Kart 8, especially thanks to the amazing DLC, though I suspect I’m not alone on that front. And thanks to our own resident staff member Mike McSurdy, I now have a Monster Hunter 4 addiction.

Besides the classics, I have a penchant for tactical games like Fire Emblem, RPGs (Paper Mario probably topping that list) and, oddly enough, simulation titles like Rune Factory and Fantasy Life. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t proud of the work I’ve put into my Animal Crossing town, Termina:

I guess the final thing you need to know about me is that in addition to being an avid video game player, I’m also an aspiring game designer. Though I’ve yet to create anything that’s been published outside of my own small social circles, I’m constantly working on my own games, both big and small. My dream is to someday be published on the Nintendo eShop. I think I could die happy if I managed to make that dream a reality…

I’ll leave you with my Nintendo ID, Edantes, so you can look me up and let me show you just how powerful a lifetime of gaming makes you in Smash Bros or Mario Kart. Or, you know, we could just catch butterflies in Animal Crossing.

I can’t wait to get started here at NintendoFever, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you all better!

An amateur game designer and lover of all things Nintendo, Lukas studied digital arts and 3d animation at the University of Tampa before graduating in 2013. If he isn't playing a video game, you can bet he's probably thinking about it.
