Nintendo releases official statement on amiibo stock issues

Nintendo hasn’t exactly been blind to the problems fans have had due to the poor supply of several amiibo figures, but the company has now finally released an official, somewhat comforting, statement on the matter. It starts by thanking fans for their support of the toy line, but concedes that “sales of the product have exceeded our expectations.”

The company then explains that certain amiibo will be hard to find at times, but they are trying to prevent this from happening. There are even current plans to “bring back some currently out-of-stock amiibo figures.” There are also plans to make these reissues easier for fans to find out about through social media.

Finally, Nintendo claims they “remain committed to keeping amiibo affordable and easy to access.” Honestly, they haven’t done a great job of that so far, so that’s where I start to become concerned that the handful of amiibo I really want (Lucina and the yarn Yoshi figures) will never fall into my hands. Thanks, scalpers.
