Nintendo of America restocking Marth amiibo in late April

The official Twitter account for Nintendo of America has revealed a time frame for the promised restocking of Marth amiibo; more should be arriving on store shelves at the end of April.

Marth was featured in the first wave of amiibo, which was released last year in November. His figure, along with others like Wii Fit Trainer and Villager, sold out rapidly and has been a prime target for internet scalpers, which as in turn infuriated collectors of the figures.

Nintendo acknowledged the stock problems in the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast while showing off amiibo use in Codename: S.T.E.A.M. Since the Marth amiibo works with the soon-to-be-released 3DS title, Nintendo of America promised consumers the figure would be restocked at some point in the future. It looks like they’re making good on that promise, but it’s likely the scalper trend will continue, so those who are wanting to finally get their hands on a Marth amiibo for a decent price had better stay on their toes!
