RELEASE DATE(S): August 14th, 2014

From Dahku Creations presents the new game that comes out in the eShop for Wii U August 14th, 2014 in US, Mexico, Canada, and Brazil called Soon Shine.

This game is played on the GamePad, and is a touch-based game. The objective is to tap and destroy the little ghosts before they touch the sun/moon.  By swiping the screen lengthwise, you can change from sun to moon, or vice versa. Some ghosts only move and be caught when the sun is shown, and some only move when the moon is shown. The white and black ghosts always move, though, but can only be caught on either the sun or the moon side. If a ghost touches the sun/moon, it damages you, making the health meter go down. The goal of the game is to destroy as many ghosts as you can  before the health meter runs out.

There are 3 modes- Standard (no restrictions), Purist (you cannot use items), and a Timed mode (destroy as many ghosts as you can in 3 minutes).

Soon Shine is a great simple touch-based puzzle game, but it is best suited for handhelds like a smartphone or even the 3DS. It is one of those games you would want to play when you’re bored in the airport or waiting to get a table at a restaurant. I really just can’t see myself wanting to play this above all the other games I could be playing for hours at home on my Wii U.

The difficulty of the game slowly rises as the time in the modes goes on. This can cause a bit of boredom because it is so easy because the ghosts move so slowly for a while when you first start a mode. You earn tokens based on ghosts you destroy, time, etc  and you can buy items that help you in playing the game such as destroying all the ghosts on screen or filling your health meter. You can also buy cool backgrounds such as “Crystal Cave” and “Steampunk” and tunes for gameplay.

The graphics are colorful and cute and keep your attention, and the music is peaceful and cheery. Nothing too complicated, and it is all very relaxing.

The Recommendation

For those who love cute puzzle games for leisure, this is the game for you. It is family friendly, though it is a one-player game. The rules are easy to understand and it was nicely put together and is just very fun. Soon Shine will be released August 14, 2014 at the eShop for Wii U for $1.99.
